Academic ethics: practices of fighting plagiat in foreign universities

Abstract

This article presents various aspects of plagiarism prevention practices among students, as well as mechanisms for its detection and subsequent disciplinary action in case of plagiarism. The article includes an analysis of the practices of individual universities of foreign countries: Great Britain, USA, Switzerland, Singapore, Germany and Hong Kong. The policies of most universities in these countries are similar, and may differ only in certain aspects of accountability. In conclusion, the best practices and recommendations from the international practice of preventing and combating student plagiarism are presented, which can be implemented in the anti-plagiarism policies of Russian universities.
